Our Building Process

1

Take our Buyer University Course!

Our Buyer University course is your quick and easy guide to understanding the entire home buying and building process with Summit Homes. Complete the course before going to contract and get a $1,500* builder credit when you buy your new Summit home!

2

Schedule a Community Visit

At the beginning of your home search, our New Home Experts are your go-to contacts for all things Summit Homes. They know our homes and communities inside and out and are here to make your search easier. Our New Home Experts can assist you in setting up your appointment, and we recommend scheduling it in advance. That way, you’ll get the one-on-one attention you deserve from our Community Managers.

3

Visit our Communities

When you arrive, you’ll meet with the Community Manager—your go-to expert who knows the neighborhood, home plans, and build process inside and out. They’ll walk you through available home plans, homesites, design packages, and what to expect in terms of timelines.

If you’re exploring options, they can even create custom price outs based on your preferences so you can clearly see how each choice impacts the final price of your home.

And of course, they’re there to answer every question along the way. No pressure—just friendly, helpful guidance as you start your homebuying journey.

    4

    Design Your Home

We’ve made the home-buying experience as simple and stress-free as possible. As your Community Manager guides you through the process, they’ll help you choose the design series that best fits your lifestyle, taste, and budget.

Every homeowner is different, which is why we offer a range of thoughtfully curated design packages—from the stylish and cost-efficient Series 1, to the elevated finishes in Series 2, all the way to the luxurious and highly detailed Series 3.

During your visit, you’ll be able to explore each series in person so you can confidently choose the look and feel that matches your vision for your new home. No matter which one you select, every option has been carefully designed to enhance your everyday living.

    5

    Home Design & Pre-construction Review

Once your homesite has been confirmed and the foundation is poured, your Community Manager will schedule a special onsite meeting with you (and your Realtor, if you have one). This meeting typically happens within about 30 days of foundation completion. During this visit, your Project Manager and your Community Manager will walk you through what to expect in the early stages of construction and highlight the key details of your contract so you feel confident about the road ahead. We’ll also review a helpful checklist that outlines the steps in this phase of the build.

Peak Moment: Celebrate with a groundbreaking photo! We’ll provide a hard hat and shovel so you can capture the perfect “first dig” moment.

      6

      Mid-Construction Meeting

Once the sheetrock is up, we’ll schedule a special on-site meeting to walk your home together. This is when you’ll meet with your next Project Manager and get a clear look at what’s coming next in the build process. During this visit, your Project Manager will guide you through the home, review a detailed checklist, and make sure everything is aligned with your selections and expectations. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and see your space really come together.

Peak Moment: Snap a photo or video when you sign the floor—it's one of the most memorable milestones in the journey to your new home!

        7

        New Home Orientation

During this visit, your Project Manager will walk you through your new home and highlight all of its features. Together, you’ll confirm that your selections have been installed and inspect the overall condition of the cosmetic finishes to ensure everything looks just as you expected.

Your Project Manager will also share important maintenance tips to help keep your home in great shape for years to come. Before you wrap up, you’ll go over how warranty visits work and the simple steps for submitting any concerns after move-in.

          8

          Closing Day

It’s the big day! You’ll come to the Summit Homes office to officially close on your new home with our partners at Town & Country, our exclusive title company. They’ll guide you through the final documents and make everything simple and stress-free. Once the closing is complete, we’ll celebrate together with gifts, photos, and plenty of excitement as you take this huge step into homeownership.

New home prices, home plan designs, home specifications, features and available locations are subject to change without notice. Stated dimensions and square footage are approximate. Artist renderings are not guaranteed or drawn to scale.
