Life's Biggest Moments: First comes love, then comes marriage

That's exactly what Ayo and his finance, Aramide, decided to do. These two lovebirds met in the Summer of 2012 after graduating and starting their careers as physicians in the same hospital in Ayo's hometown in Nigeria. Life happens, and they ended up going their separate ways for several years. Ayo moved to Kansas City in 2016, and Aramide moved to Cleveland. Fast forward to 2020, and these two reconnected. 

Ayo explained, "we have a long history together, and once we got back together, I knew almost immediately that this was it, and I was going to propose. It took me about a year to plan, but we were ready."  

Ayo planned a special trip in 2022 to London under the guise of a "birthday celebration" for Aramide. Once they were alone at the top of the London Eye, Ayo popped the question, and Aramide accepted the ring. At that time, they were still living 11 hours apart and several states away. With a plan for Aramide to move to KC, Ayo started looking at homes.

He decided on the Overland Park area and started his research. The Summit community of Southpointe had one homesite left, and he decided to surprise Aramide with the option to build their new home together. 

"This is a new start and such a significant life milestone. We had outgrown my last house and needed more space. We wanted a home that was built with us and our life in mind."

They started their new home in April and moved in December before the holidays. Aramide wrapped up her life in Cleveland and joined Ayo in Kansas City in January of 2023. 

Ayo and Aramide are a few months out from closing and had great things to say about their experience with Summit and our team members.

Not only was the build process and closing so seamless, the Customer Care team has checked in multiple times since closing to make sure everything was taken care of. Now that they're moved in, they are most excited to celebrate their upcoming nuptials this Spring and start decorating the home. They will have a ceremony in Nigeria in April and a wedding in North KC in May. We wish them a life of health and happiness in their new Summit home at Southpointe.
