We have awesome news: The Kansas City Star published an article on February 20th titled, "Area Home Construction is Off to a Good Start in 2013" and Summit Custom Homes was recognized for having "the most permits for single-family homes last year, 180."

Did you know that the average Summit Custom Homes HERS score in 2012 was a 70? That means that our homes are about 30% more efficient than homes built to the current energy code standard. That directly translates into a more comfortable environment, healthier indoor air quality and a focus on preserving our natural resources for future generations. All in all, a better home for your family.

Our homes are energy efficient, and it's a good thing: The National Association of Home Builders posted a story on February 21 that Appliance Magazine posted to their website titled "What Homebuyers Want Most: Energy Efficiency." The title pretty much sums it up, but in short, the story identified "some of the most-wanted features as Energy Star appliances and windows, as well as an Energy Star rating for the whole home. The report found that nine out of 10 buyers would rather buy a home with energy-efficient features and permanently lower their utility bills than a home without those features but costing 2-3% less."
