Our Community Managers and Personal Builders do a great job of walking our homebuyers through the process, but a lot of the time, people have the same questions. Here are the top five we hear the most:

How long does it take to build a home? 
Typically, we build a home in 7-8 months. This is from the contract signing to the closing date. Most buyers think the timeline starts at the dig date, but we are already inside that 7-8 month window by that point. Additionally, we have homes available at various stages, and that could shorten that timeline if you purchase a home already under construction. 

How do you handle subsurface conditions? 
We have a $2,500 cap that can be applied to the homeowner. After that, all extra costs will be covered by Summit. Our Community Manager and Personal Builder will explain all of this in much more details, too!

What's the benefit of being in a Care-Free community?
In a Care-Free community, Summit provides lawn maintenance and snow removal so the homeowners can spend more time doing what they love. We have found that the dues are cost savings to the homeowners over hiring a 3rd party to handle the maintenance.

Do I need to sell my home before building a home? 
Not necessarily! Building a new home takes several months, giving you plenty of time to list and sell your existing home. Many lenders have other solutions too, such as bridge loans. Our Community Managers can provide you with our preferred lender, NASB, for specifics. 

When will I make my first mortgage payment? 
You don't start making mortgage payments until you close on your home!
