Adventureland

Adventureland is Iowa's biggest theme park consisting of both Adventureland and the waterpark Adventure Bay. This park is full of thrills with more than 100 rides, shows, and attractions, so make sure to stock up on funnel cakes, adrenaline, and great family memories. 

Science Center of Iowa

In the heart of downtown, the Science Center of Iowa includes permanent exhibits like Why the Sky? (space), Brick by Brick (LEGO), and What on Earth (zoology/geology), along with exciting traveling exhibits like the appearance by SUE: The T. rex Experience. SCI brings learning to life with interactive exhibits for all ages.

Sleepy Hollow Sports Park

Sleepy Hollow Sports Park is a true jack of all trades offering 4 seasons with various themes and activities. In the spring, there is a Renaissance Faire with Celtic music, dancing, drinks, and more. Summertime brings go-karts, batting cages, mini-golf, sand volleyball, inflatables, and laser tag. In the fall, it’s the Midwest’s largest Halloween Scream Park. Lastly, during winter the park turns into a snowy wonderland with tubing, skiing, and sledding. 

Living History Farms

This farm is one of a kind with an interactive, 500-acre outdoor museum. The museum has four different farms that tell the story of Iowa’s 300-year-old history. Walk through history at the 1876 Town of Walnut Hill or tour a 1700 Ioway Indian Farm. Throughout your journey, you’ll find farm animals to pet, blacksmith shops, and old-time baseball games. Each site is hosted by historical interpreters for an immersive experience with family and friends. 

Iowa State Fair

Join Iowa’s grand celebration at the Iowa State Fair in August. This is the largest event in Iowa and annually attracts over one million people from all over the world. There’s fun for the whole family with concerts, giant slides, amusement rides, animals, parades, contests, livestock competitions, and the best part, over 70 mobile foods on a stick. This isn’t a fair you’ll want to miss.
