Women in Construction: Leah Malchow

Summit Homes is grateful to have several incredibly strong female leaders on our team. In honor of Women's History Month, we wanted to pause and feature a few team members.

Meet Leah Malchow, one of our Personal Builders.

We sat down to ask Leah a few questions about her career, role models and why she chose the new construction industry.

How did you make your way to the construction industry? 

Construction really made its way into my life early on. Growing up I watched my dad, and his brothers build houses, churches, and other structures. One of the first photographs I remember taking is in a dump truck with “Malchow Construction” on the side, apparently, it’s always been in my blood to build houses. 

What’s the best part of your job? 

Being excited to go to work every day.  Working alongside the vendors to create and build the homeowner's vision and getting to watch the details come together to a beautiful, finished product. 

What makes you proud to work in the construction industry? 

I’m included in a much larger picture; we are building communities where people will live in forever and create lifelong memories.
