We're now 100% LED!

We realized the need to reduce the cost of homeownership, protect the environment and make our homes more energy efficient. The first step was to switch our lighting to be 100% LED. We're proud to share that Summit homes are now 100% LED! 

What is LED? The light-emitting diode (LED) is one of today's most energy-efficient lighting techniques because they do not depend on a filament or fluorescent tubes. LED light bulbs last longer and offer better light quality.  

What does this mean for you? LEDs typically use about 75% less energy than traditional incandescents, saving you money. They can last 25 times longer and come in an array of colors and levels you've come to expect. While the initial price of energy-efficient bulbs is typically higher than traditional incandescents, newer bulbs cost less to operate, saving you money over the life of the bulb. Many of the newer bulbs last significantly longer than traditional bulbs, so you won't need to replace them as often.

What are the global benefits? Widespread use of LED lighting has the greatest potential impact on energy savings in the United States. By 2027, the widespread use of LEDs could save about 348 terawatts of electricity: a total savings of more than $30 billion at today's electricity prices.
