Summit's Annual BBQ Competition

It's easy to go hog wild in Kansas City because we have some of the world's best barbecue joints. Casual roadside stops or white-tablecloth restaurants turn out platters of smoked ribs, brisket and pulled pork as staple menu items across the metro. Many locals also claim to be grill-masters. 

At Summit Homes, we ask our team to bring their appetite and gather once a year for our annual barbecue showdown. Team members submit their best BBQ dishes that would easily compete with the top barbecue restaurants. Fifty team members swarm the tables, devour everything and wait for the judges to announce the winner.

This year, and for the last FIVE years, Dustin Adams, our Personal Builder in Lee's Summit, won with over five dishes entered! The contest included brisket, lamb, sausage, burnt ends, salmon, pulled pork, tenderloin, ribs and chicken. It's safe to say no one went away hungry. 

After everyone is stuffed, it's time to break out the team activities where we have fun finding out just how good our communication, problem-solving (and flexibility) skills are!
