Why is a Lower HERS Index Score Better?

November 14, 2013

Did you know that every home we build is independently inspected and awarded a HERS rating to document the home's energy efficiency? We take steps to maximize energy efficiency, protect indoor air quality and incorporate sustainable building practices into every home we build.

What does HERS stand for?

Every single home we build features our proprietary Green Build Advantage program. We take steps to maximize energy efficiency, protect indoor air quality and incorporate sustainable building practices into every home we build.

Healthier indoor air quality is achieved by using formaldehyde-free insulation; low or no VOC (volatile organic compound) paints, glues, and sealants where available; a passive radon remediation system; sealed air distribution ductwork; and a high-particulate MERV-11 furnace filter.  This all translates into a healthier and more comfortable living environment for your family.
